Reichstag Defence, 2014, xerography and gold fillings on paper

In full view of the military industrial complex, Dionisis Christofilogiannis’ meticulously detailed xero gold juxtaposes the Reichstag parliament building in Berlin with the profile of an army tank. Taking into account not only the context of Christo and Jean Claude’s infamous Wrapped Reichstag in 1995, Christofilogiannis’s work implies that the border between military expansionism and political decision-making has become ever more intensified in the post-cold war era.

Larceny, xerography and gold fillings on paper, 2016

Larceny is a crime involving the unlawful taking of the personal property. Traditionally, a thief must not only gain dominion over the property, but also must move it from its original position. The slightest movement, a hair’s breadth, is sufficient. The property taken must be “of another”. Thus wild animals cannot be stolen.
